Michael Rainen
President

Michael Rainen is a real estate developer with more than 20 years experience in multi-family apartments, condominium conversion, and industrial properties in the Kansas City area. He founded Rainen Companies in 1992 and has overseen the development of many award-winning properties.

Rainen entered the multi-family housing and real estate industry after founding Rainen Business Interiors, a design, supply and service organization for business and institutional interior furnishings, including its subsidiary, Mid Continent Office Distributors which grew to be the largest independent office furniture wholesaler in the US at that time. His first purchase of three apartment complexes from the Resolution Trust Company helped propel Rainen into suburban and urban real estate development.

Rainen and his partners purchased the Sulgrave and Regency House apartments in 2001, combined operations and revitalized the complex into a unique luxury community. The Sulgrave-Regency conversion is considered the most successful condominium conversion in Kansas City history.

The ULI Development of Distinction-winning Northgate Village redevelopment in North Kanas City, Missouri was led by Rainen. Additionally Rainen Companies, Inc. developed the Gardens at Northgate Village, a 318 unit seniors apartment community. The Northland Clay County EDC presented The Gardens at Northgate Village with its Keystone Award. Rainen also led the development of Cityview Apartments, a 246 unit multifamily property, which won the Kansas City Business Journal's Capstone Award.

Samantha Gwin
Vice President

Samantha has been in the multi-family property management industry since 2000. Samantha started in the multi-family industry as a Leasing Agent and worked her way up. She has worked with Rainen Companies since 2002. In doing so, she knows first hand the importance of every position. Samantha is a Certified Apartment Portfolio Supervisor. She has managed an extensive portfolio of Market, Section 42 Compliance, and HOA communities. Samantha excels in team management and leadership skills. She is a firm believer that you are only as strong as your team, and those that play together stay together.

Lauren Rainen
Marketing Manager

Lauren has been with Rainen Companies since 2013. She manages all the marketing for Rainen properties and projects. She also oversees a variety of the functions and management tasks within the company, including property development and research.


Lauren graduated from the University of Colorado in 2003 with a degree in Business Management. In 2005, she bought Resort Sitters, LLC, a referral service in the rocky mountains of Colorado which she co-owned until she sold the company in 2009. After extensive travel in 2010 she coached and was the operations manager for The University of Colorado Freestyle Ski Team from 2011-2013.

Tammy Lenhart
Controller

Tammy has been in both commercial and residential property management since 1992. Tammy started her career in commercial property management and transitioned to residential in 2012. She has also been involved in accounting from the Lessor side of property management while working at the Applebee's corporate office. Tammy manages all aspects of the accounting process for our managed properties and other related entities. Tammy received her Accounting Degree from Penn Foster College in 2009 and graduated from MidAmerica Nazarene University with a BA in Management in 2011.

Erin Werner
Operations Manager

Erin has been in the in the Multi Family Industry for over 12 years with a diverse background in Section 8, Tax Credit, Public Housing, Historic Buildings, Senior Living and Conventional Living. Also bringing to the table 3 years in Commercial Real Estate and paralegal experience with Missouri evictions.
Erin prides herself on pushing the properties she has over seen to winning several awards through the Apartment Association; Leasing Excellence of The Year, Maintenance of The Year, Property of The Year, and Commercial Excellence Award. Erin's moto she has lived by since starting as a Leasing Agent is to "Provide the type of home for our residents that I would want for myself, and to never ask one of my employees to do something I would not be willing to do myself".
