Rainen Begins Construction on Liberty at Shoal Creek
55 and better luxury living

Amenity-rich community located in the Village at Shoal Creek is dedicated to
active adults over 55 who want to be free of homeowner responsibilities


KANSAS CITY, Mo. – October 6, 2015 – Rainen Companies, LLC announces plans for a $31-million apartment community designed for adults looking to free themselves of the burdens of home ownership. Liberty at Shoal Creek – located at 8800 NE 82nd Street in Kansas City, Mo. – will offer 185 one- and two-bedroom leasable units ranging from 754 to 1,354 square feet.


“This will not be your typical ‘apartment complex’ where people come and go without really getting to know each other nor will it be a dependent retirement-style community,” said Mike Rainen, president of Rainen Companies. “Liberty at Shoal Creek is a luxury community with unprecedented amenities and social activities for mature, ‘55 and better’ adults who are active yet no longer need or want to own a home and are ready to make a lifestyle change.”


Part of the neighborhood component of the larger Shoal Creek Valley master-planned community, Liberty at Shoal Creek will be situated in close proximity to numerous retail, dining and service options found in nearby Liberty, Mo. In fact, the new community will be within walking distance to the Sprouts Farmers Market-anchored retail center, Mosaic Life Care at Shoal Creek and Clayview Country Club. Additionally, the top-rated Shoal Creek Golf Course and Liberty Hospital are just short drives away.

A social coordinator will be on staff to facilitate an array of activities. The property will feature many standout amenities including:

Construction on Liberty at Shoal Creek began in early August and is expected to take approximately 14 months to complete. Yaeger Architecture designed the new community and Straub Construction will serve as general contractor for the project. US Bank is providing construction financing and oversight will be provided by Keystone Property Management.
